i’ve been smoking for six years now.
i really want to stop.
i don’t smoke a lot.
mainly when i’m on the phone,
at work,
or upset.
i don’t want to waste money on gum or patches
(a lot of my friends have tried it,
and they say the stuff doesn’t work).

any tips on ways to smoke would be a big help,
thanks.

I’m trying to quit cold turkey, I don’t want any patches or anything. I’ve been trying to cut down and I have been smoking less, but it’s just not enough motivation to quit smoking. I’ve made up my mind that I wish to fully stop. Any tips or suggestions?
I don’t really "drink with the boys." But, thanks.

And I can’t really run, bad leg… long story.

ive stopped for 24 days-well im on the patches but im doing great not a single pufff and i dont think about them-its going well..i was just curious to hear all peoples experiences and tips etc thanku

I don’t want to quit smoking cigarettes, but i know that I need to because my parents are becoming increasingly disappointed with me, nicotine gum/patches don’t do the trick. Is there any tips to quit without motivation?

i have been a smoker for the past eight years, and i think i am ready to quit. i smoke from 6-8 cigs a day (i am told that is not much). i am a grad student, so i don’t have much money for patches and such. any suggestions?

I have been smoking on and off for over 10 years. I would like tips from people who have actually stopped smoking. I have tried suckers, gum, and patches make me sick. I am soooo tired of smoking! YUK

ALMOST 2 MONTHS, 12-03-2009. IT IS BY THE GRACE OF GOD I HAVE MADE IT THIS FAR! ALL I DID WAS TAKE THE STEP! I JUST FINALLY TOOK THE STEP, THREW ON A PATCH AND PRAYED TO GOD…AND HERE I SIT TODAY WITH VICTORY! CAUTION: Regarding generic nicotine patches coming off, and were not fully adhiesive when I went to replace them. If your are or going to use the Nicotine Patch, USE: NICODERM, it will make all the difference in the world. Plus I have backed down to only 1 zyban (wellbutrin) a day, because it creating to much anxiety. TODAY ( 2 MONTHS ) I GOT A NEW PERSCRIPTION FOR A LOWER DOSE OF THE ZYBAN (100mg WELLBUTRIN SR) and WORKS SO MUCH BETTER! I NEVER REALIZED HOW MUCH TIME SMOKING TAKES OUT OF EACH DAY! – That habitual reaching for a cigarette, driving and even thinking about smoking IS DIMINISHING RAPIDLY. I did not think that coming up on 3 weeks, that I would feel this good, along with many of the habitual triggers getting less and less. Places that smokers have been smoking, smells like a old stail wet ash tray…and does not smell good at all. TO ALL: NO ONE IS WEAK FOR USING STOP SMOKING AIDS! DO NOT FEEL GUILTY IF YOU FAILED COLD TURKEY. Anti-smoking products are NOT a cructh, but a blessing and a HUGE advantage for you.
