I’ve been smoking almost everyday for the past 6 months. The longest time i’ve went without smoking weed would probably be two or three days. I have a lot of things going for me and the only real reason to quit would be because im not myself anymore. Any tips on quitting?

www.howtoquitcigarettes.com If you want to quit smoking cigarettes and overcome your nicotine addiction FOREVER, then you MUST set a “quit date”. This is very important because studies have shown that just by writing down your goals (as opposed to just thinking or talking about it), you will be MUCH more inclined to achieve your goal when it is written down. So you want to set a “quit date”. That is the date you want to quit smoking tobacco by. Set a realistic date. Once you set it, write it down on a piece of paper and paste it in your room. This quit date will constantly remind you that you are on a race to achieve your goal by a certain date. Your behavior and attitude will change to smoking. Instead of just lighting up a cigarette, you would think TWICE about it the next time you have that craving to smoke. When I was smoking all the time, I actually wrote it down on a piece of paper that I wanted to quit smoking. Just by writing down one time, the goal became MORE real. It no longer was a wish nor was it a dream but it was a REALITY to overcome my addiction. And guess what, I was able to quit smoking once & for all! So stop buying Marlboro reds or lights or Camel filters or non filters or whatever! Stop buying cigarettes & set a quit date & write it down on a piece of paper! 10-12-09: PLEASE SHARE YOUR EXPERIENCES WITH US, TO HELP US ALL in the battle to QUIT SMOKING these cigarettes. Thank You I had to stop take Chantix on Day five due to a weird depression type feeling WHILE I WAS STILL SMOKING! So I quit smoking with nicotine patches and gum, and started smoking again. 7-30-09 UPDATE: It lasted about 5 days, and I ended up smoking agian. As in the video I am on Day 1 and using Zyban, and nictonine supplents Message to Christians: I have read and heard so many Christians feeling so much quilt because they are smoking, and can’t seem to quit. First of all – NO ONE should be feeling guilty of trying to quit an addiction because YOU want to. I have seen way to much legalism in Religion and Churches, condemning those who smoke and that is straight out UN-BIBLICAL period. If someone or organization is telling you that you have to quit smoking to do this or that, or get closer to God…run from the lie and hit your knees and just pray to Jesus Christ. It is the personal 1 on 1 relationship which will help you! You can not get wrapped up in any type of legalism what so ever! NEVER quit smoking if your not ready, regardless what others may say! God is not looking down on you with a whip. I have been walking with Jesus Christ for 5-1/2 years now, and He helped rid me of so many drug and alcohol addictions. Now God just gently tugged on my heart and asking me if I would quit now… So bottom line – Christianity is NOT legalism. There are brothers out

Ive been smoking for a couple years now and i really need to stop…but i cant! any tips?! any help would b greatly appreciated =)

I started a new job a month ago. I was so happy because I finally got decent pay and health insurance. Unfortunately, this was too good to be true. One of my coworkers smokes in the office. I have asthma and am allergic to cigarette smoke. Everytime she lights one up, I start smothering. I told my boss in person about my health condition and all he said he’d do is put up automatic door closers on the doors around her (she smokes in the doorway of the building so she can stay by the phone). Well, about 2 or 3 weeks went by, and he’d still not put anything up. I decided to email him and tell him again. I asked him if he could ban smoking indoors completely. Well, finally he decides to put those automatic door closers on there. But guess what, she props her door open! It’s terrible!

Anyway, have any of you dealt with smokers at work. How do you get someone to stop. The bad thing is, my boss is a smoker too! So he doesn’t care! If they don’t stop, I’m going to have to find another job!
Well, about speaking to her directly. She can be very mean. She was very ugly to me at first, and then someone talked to her for me, and now she’s nice. I don’t know how she’d react if I told her to stop.
The reason she smokes in the doorway is because she’s a dispatcher. If she goes outside completely, she’ll miss a call or something on the radio.
I did talk to my boss. He’s a smoker as well and does not care about my condition. Also, if I cause a big stink about this, everyone is going to dislike me because the majority of people there seem to smoke. The other non-smokers are medics and get to get away. I’m an office person and always have to be there. Eh, it sucks. :(

These clips are from the BBC: Horizon documentary series entitled “We Love Cigarettes”. The advice Allen Carr gives is pretty damn good, it convinced me (a 5 year smoker) to quit cold turkey. It has been a couple months now and I’m still going strong. Update: It has been over one year since my last cigarette and I have never been tempted to look back. I really hope this simple advice has helped someone else.

I am almost 7 months pregnant, and I have tried many times to stop smoking. I am attempting once more. I get alot of pressure from my fiancee who also smokes. Also, he seems unwilling to even try to support me through this. My "friends" still light up right in fromt of me, to the fact where I have to leave the room just to not be around the smoke. Isit even possible to quit with all this going on? Any suggestions?
